Sitting at the centre of the pretty Cotswold village of Barnsley (on the B4425 Cirencester to Bibury road) The Village pub, marked by infamous local gold-grey stone, enjoys a lovely spot that’s set within some of the West Country’s best rambling countryside (boots and picnic rug are a packing essential!) And just in case its not just the glorious views that you’re chasing we’re only a short drive four miles north east to the hustle and bustle of Cirencester town.
Known as the capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester is a busy and buzzing market town. Our favourite days are Mondays and Fridays when it’s large market square comes to life with traders and shoppers from surrounding villages. Cirencester is also renowned for its boutique arts and crafts shops.
Bibury is a rather charming Cotswold village that is just a short drive from Cirencester. Once described by William Morris (1834-96) as ‘the most beautiful village in England,” Bibury’s attractions include Arlington Row, the Bibury Trout Farm and the Church of St Mary.
Whether you’re in need of a snug country bolt hole for a few nights of escape or you’re just following a quiet rumble in your tummy…don’t hesitate to get in touch!
